How Much Does a Breast Lift Cost?

woman-smiling

Breast lift surgery is one of the more popular cosmetic enhancement procedures available. Our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. David L. Durst, has helped many women successfully renew the appearance of their breasts with this treatment. Since breast lift surgery is customized for each individual patient, the cost of the procedure can vary greatly among individuals, depending on their unique needs and overall treatment plan.

Factors that affect the total price of a breast lift include the surgeon’s fee, anesthesia fee, operatory fees, pre- and post-operative care, whether breast implants are included as part of the breast lift procedure, and other associated costs. Breast lift surgery is considered an aesthetic enhancement procedure, and is therefore typically not covered under medical insurance. With that in mind, our practice prides itself on presenting those who are considering this procedure a detailed breakdown of pricing for breast lift surgery once they have met with our surgeon and he has developed a preliminary treatment plan that has been customized to their needs.

When the treatment plan has been created, a member of our team will go over the total cost estimate with you and talk with you about payment options. Dr. Durst accepts a wide variety of payment methods, and works with reputable plastic surgery financing companies that can help qualified applicants bring treatment into their budget. We believe that high-quality cosmetic enhancement should be within reach of everyone who desires it, regardless of their financial situation.

When you come in for your initial consultation and evaluation, we will be happy to provide you with an estimate of your breast lift surgery and assist you with exploring your payment options. If you have questions, or if you would like to schedule a consultation, we encourage you to contact us today.

What Can I Expect From the Breast Lift with Augmentation Recovery Process?

While each patient is different and the recovery process will be somewhat unique to everyone, there are some general aspects of recovery from breast lift with implants surgery that most people can expect to experience. Since this treatment is a combination procedure – breast augmentation to increase volume and enhance shape; breast lift to address sagginess and excess skin in the breasts – you will need to set aside a certain period of time following surgery to rest and heal. Most patients will have some degree of bruising and swelling in the breasts after the procedure, and Dr. David Durst, our board-certified plastic surgeon, will likely recommend a special type of bra to be worn during recovery. There will be some tenderness and soreness in the treated areas; however, discomfort can be alleviated with medication.

Many breast lift with augmentation patients are able to return to their normal daily routines after about two weeks, but activities will need to be limited, and some patients may require a bit more time for rest. Strenuous exercises or other activities should be avoided for at least four weeks. It’s important to note that post-operative swelling in the breasts can last for up to a year, or even longer. That said, swelling in the treatment areas should fade significantly in the months following surgery, and many patients barely notice it as time goes by. Dr. Durst will create a detailed guideline for the recovery process and talk with you about all aspects of the procedure and post-operative care. The recovery period is a very important stage of the treatment overall, and adherence to post-operative instructions is crucial to ensuring a safe recovery and results that meet – and perhaps even exceed – your expectations.

We encourage you to contact our practice with any questions you may have, or to schedule a consultation. The breast lift with augmentation procedure has helped many women renew the appearance of their breasts with beautiful, natural-looking results!

Why Should I Get a Breast Lift with Implants?

A breast lift can effectively address sagginess or “droopiness” in the breasts that is typically caused by the natural aging process, genetics, pregnancy, weight fluctuation, or even simple gravity. With a breast lift surgery (medically known as mastopexy), our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. David Durst, can remove excess skin and tighten the remaining skin, “lifting” the breasts to a higher position and giving them a firmer, more youthful appearance. While this procedure can be very beneficial for patients who simply want to address sagginess (ptosis) in the breasts, it will not be effective for those who also want to enhance the size of their breasts to any significant degree. Fortunately, those goals can be accomplished with a breast lift with implants surgery, a combined procedure that can address both excess skin development in the breasts as well as breast volume.

Breast lift with implants (augmentation) can increase the fullness of the breasts while simultaneously addressing sagging skin and breast droop. Dr. Durst will eliminate excess skin and move the breasts to a higher position, pulling the skin taut and providing a “perkier” aesthetic. Then, he will add saline or silicone breast implants to enhance volume and shape of the breasts. In some cases, a breast lift and augmentation with implants may need to be done as separate procedures, specifically if a significant enlargement is desired.

To be sure, not every individual will need a combination breast lift with implants procedure to achieve her needs and goals. When you arrive for your initial consultation, Dr. Durst will perform a comprehensive evaluation and talk with you about your concerns. Only one of these procedures may be enough to help you attain your goals. With that in mind, women who are seeking both a rejuvenation of the breasts and increased fullness and volume may benefit from a combination of the two treatments.

Is Liposuction Permanent?

Lipo permanent? When considering liposuction, it is important to remember that this popular body contouring procedure is not intended for significant weight loss. Ideal liposuction candidates will already be at or near their ideal weight with pockets of isolated fat that have proven resistant to diet and exercise. Liposuction can be used to slim and contour most areas of the body, including the abdomen, lower back, chin, upper arms, or thighs.

Dr. David L. Durst generally considers the results of liposuction surgery to be long-lasting without the need for retreatment. If his liposuction patients do gain weight in the future, this weight is typically distributed proportionately throughout the body and usually does not concentrate at the treatment site or sites. With that in mind, the results from liposuction can last for many years. A healthy diet and regular exercise are recommended for maintaining your liposuction results. During the consultation process, Dr. Durst can help you decide if liposuction is the best option for you. To learn more about liposuction, please contact our office today.

How Many Areas Can You Treat in One Liposuction Session?

Multiple areas for lipoLiposuction can slim and contour diverse areas of the body to eliminate stubborn excess fat deposits. Most of our liposuction candidates at the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Huntsville choose to target isolated pockets of fat around the abdomen, lower back, arms, thighs, or chin; however, liposuction can typically be utilized in virtually any body area. For optimal results, patients should already be at or near their ideal weight. Liposuction is not intended for dramatic weight loss, so if you have weight distributed all over your body that you would like to lose, a healthy diet and regular exercise should be tried first. If there are pockets of fat that are simply not responding, liposuction may be an ideal option.

Liposuction can be performed in a number of different target areas in the same operation, or it can be performed over a series of treatments. For most patients, four liters of total fat removal is the maximum for a single outpatient procedure. The number of areas treated in a single procedure and the amount of fat that will be removed will ultimately depend on your unique needs and what will be safest for your body type. Your medical history, skin laxity, and overall health will be taken into account when designing your customized liposuction treatment. For cases in which more than three areas need to be contoured to meet your goals, Dr. David L. Durst may recommend two separate liposuction sessions to maximize your safety.

Liposuction for Men

At the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Huntsville, liposuction remains one of our most frequently performed surgeries for both men and women. With the ability to slim and contour nearly any area of the body, liposuction can be ideal for patients who struggle with isolated pockets of fat. Most men choose to target the love handles, abdomen, or chest, which can result in the elimination of excess fat deposits that have been resistant to traditional diet and exercise routines. Liposuction is also often used to treat gynecomastia for male patients with enlarged breasts, creating a flatter appearance to the chest and reducing self-consciousness about one’s appearance. The procedure can also benefit men who are looking to reduce the appearance of a “double-chin.”

The recovery for liposuction is largely the same for both men and women. With proper diet and exercise, the results can last for many years to come. Our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. David L. Durst, customizes all liposuction procedures to meet the individual patient’s unique needs and goals. Breast Reduction vs. Breast Lift

Woman choosing lingerie

A breast reduction is usually performed for patients with overly large breasts who are experiencing pain, discomfort, or lifestyle inconveniences as a result. Some women with breasts that are too large for their body frames have difficulty exercising or finding clothes that fit well, and many have chronic back, neck, or shoulder pain. Breast reduction surgeries involve the removal of breast tissue to create a more proportionate bustline. In some cases, a breast lift will also be performed to help ensure the decreased volume does not cause the breasts to droop or sag.

If your main concern is the position of the breasts and a “drooping” appearance rather than the size of your breasts, a breast lift is likely more appropriate for you. This surgery is designed to eliminate inelastic skin and reposition the breasts on the chest wall as well as reposition the nipples for a firmer, more youthful appearance. During your one-on-one consultation, Dr. David L. Durst will carefully listen to your goals, review your options, and help you decide which procedure is best for your needs and goals.

Do Breast Lift Creams Actually Work?

Skincare. Woman taking care of her dry complexion.

Although topical creams may keep your skin moisturized or protect your décolleté from the sun, these products cannot actually elevate the position of the breasts. If you want to lift the breasts without surgery, a supportive bra is the only effective option. For our patients who want firmer, perkier breasts without the use of a bra, a breast lift is often the best way to achieve that goal.

Breast lift surgery is designed to address a loss of elasticity in the skin surrounding the breasts. The procedure reduces excess skin and elevates the breasts to a more youthful position. There is no cream or cosmetic product that can achieve the same results as breast surgery, and once your breasts begin to sag or droop, a breast lift can rejuvenate the appearance of the breasts with beautiful results. Can I Get A Breast Lift Without Implants?

A beautiful mixed race African American

For women who are concerned with a loss of skin elasticity and “sagging” among the breasts, a breast lift can address these concerns and provide firmer, more youthful results. Due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, the natural aging process, and simply gravity, the look of the breasts often changes over time. These changes can lead to sagginess and excess skin, ultimately causing a “drooping” appearance. While breast augmentation is ideal for women who wish to enhance the size and increase the fullness of their breasts (and can sometimes be helpful for individuals affected by breast droop), not every woman experiencing a sagging effect among the breasts wants or needs implants.

If you are generally satisfied with the size of your breasts and are primarily concerned with reducing excess skin and a “drooping” appearance, a breast lift without implants may be all you will need to achieve your goals. Additional benefits of a breast lift can include repositioning the nipple as well as resizing the areolas so they are proportionate with the breasts. If you would like to add volume and fullness to the breasts while simultaneously restoring the breasts to a firmer, “perkier” appearance, implants can be placed at the same time a breast lift is performed. Dr. David L. Durst aims to provide each of his breast surgery patients with natural-looking, beautiful results that look proportionate and harmonious with their figure. During the consultation process, Dr. Durst will perform a physical exam, review your medical history, discuss your unique expectations, and help you decide if a breast lift, breast augmentation, or a combination of the two procedures can best meet your individual cosmetic goals.
